Where to buy Supra
Supra Sword speaker cable

Supra have developed many ideas for their cables over the past 25+ years since the company's' founding. And now one of the results of it's investment in Research and Development is the Supra Sword cable, designed by Johnny Svard (Svard is Swedish for Sword !!).

Sword is a speaker cable made from 24 conductors - 12 are wound one way (say clockwise) and the other 12 are wound counter-clockwise. When terminated (in the factory) great care is taken to ensure that all 24 conductors are in correct electrical and mechanical contact with the terminations.

This helps to ensure that the cable has absolutely no inductance. And as you may recall from your school days, with high level signals, inductance has one of the largest effects on the "sound" of speaker cables (and how they interact between the output stages of the amplifier and the passive components on the speaker cross-over network).

By reducing the speaker cable inductance to a negligible amount, Supra can claim to have a speaker cable that introduces no effects of its own into the sound of the system. Thereby allowing the main components of the system to work harmoniously together.

The standard lengths of Sword cable are 2m, 3m, 4m or 5m sets. Other bespoke lengths can be made to order - expect a 5-6 week delay (due to Brexit issues, importing into the UK from the EU) for these to be assembled to order and then despatched to us.

Each set is terminated with Supra CombiCon interchangeable connectors (a choice of BFA, Banana or Spade connectors are supplied in each box).

For some lengths we can optionally supply Sword with FIXED spade connectors at both ends - currently only 4m and 5m lengths are available in this option.

Please also note: Sword is a "single-wire" cable - that is, if you want to bi-wire, you'll need 2 sets.

Basic features:
Cross-sectional area 3mm / 12 AWG
Number of wires (per cable) 12+12
Insulation PE
Jacket Heat/Aging resistant PVC
External Cable Size 9.3 x 18.4 mm
Cable Connection Gas tight crimping

Electrical performance
Resistance 5.2 ohms / kilometre
Inductance 0.25 uH / metre

The original editions of Sword speaker cable were supplied in a superb presentation case.

However, for the last few months new shipments of Sword have not included this.

Sword Jumpers
Sword can also be supplied as a pair of 28 cm "jumpers" to connect across bi-wire terminals (and which replace the inferior sounding gold-plated brass "jumpers" fitted to many bi-wireable speakers when used in single-wire mode).

Sword interconnects
A matching interconnect cable, terminated with either lockable phono (Sword-ISL) or XLR connectors (Sword-IXLR) is also now available.
