Supra cables 30th anniversary logo

6th Nov 2006
We used the What Hi-Fi Show to display 720p and 1080i demonstration video via a Pioneer 43" HD plasma, and utilising a Pioneer hard drive, connected via a Pioneer media box and using a 1st generation Supra HDMI cable, running at 1080i....so as to prove that even Supra's earliest HDMI cables can carry 1080i signals over a 15 metre length.

29th Sept 2006
The season is about to start, the first Hi-Fi Show is behind us and we're looking forward to some NEW products from Supra:

The following is a brief listing of the new products due soon, and all will be on show at the forthcoming What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision Show in London from 3rd-5th November.

Our stand will be in the Chablis Suite (CHB18 - on the lower ground floor), so please pop by - we'll have a range of SPECIAL OFFERS on sale during the Show, with substantial discounts for personal visitors.

1) In celebration of Supra's 30th Anniversary, we will soon have available the Sword 2-channel high-end interconnect cable.
Available in a Limited Edition Presentation case and featuring either phono plugs ("Sword-ISL") or XLR connectors ("Sword-IXLR"), the new cable sets a very high standard for quality, neutrality and transparency.

A limited run of 3,000 sets will be produced for world-wide distribution. We expect to receive a generous proportion, as befits the UK's standing as a nation of music lovers, but even so, it is likely that we will sell our "quota" fairly fast.

Prices are: £349 for the 0.8m length phono<>phono version
and £379 for the 0.8m length balanced XLR version.

(stop press: 1m versions will be available as well, for £30 extra). Other lengths will also be available, at prices based on the same increment (i.e. £30 per stereo 0.2m length or £150 per stereo metre)

2) LoRad MD06-BS/SP
We also expect that by the time of the Show, we will have the LoRad MD06-BS/SP 6-way UK mains distribution block, featuring Tommy Jenving's own 3-stage Surge Protection.

Fully approved to BS1363 and featuring a heavy aluminium extrusion (and hence shielded) chassis, the MD06-BS/SP will be a boon to those who suffer"clicks and pops" through their mains wiring, while at the same time, if used in conjunction with LoRad shielded power cables, your entire system can be free of 50Hz mains hum, which can plague some systems (especially those that use poorly shielded interconnect and speaker cables.

Prices:
Introductory Price: £129.99 (1st 2 months only)
Normal Price: £149.99 (once initial stock depleted)

3) AnCo TV
For those switching over to digital TV (aka "Freeview") you might be experiencing poor reception, which can be down to having a poor aerial alignment. But it could also be that the cable from the wall socket tot he TV is old and is too lossy for the signal to get to your set-top box properly. Supra have now designed the AnCo TV, a low loss co-axial aerial cable, fitted with high quality, gold-plated co-ax connectors, either plug to plug (from wall socket to TV or set top box) or socket to plug (from set top box or VCR to TV)

Prices:
Introductory Price: £24.99 (for 1m)
Normal Price: £29.99 (once initial stock depleted)

August 2006
We're pleased to announce that What Hi-Fi has awarded a award to the NEW Supra AnCo component video cable. Available for just £79.99 for a set of 3x 1m cables, the new AnCo sets a new high standard in performance. Ideally suited to both current and future generation DVD and HD TV boxes (such as Sky HD), the new cables allow you to experience the full colour and bandwidth of progressive scan HD broadcasts and recordings (when available)

30th June 2006
We're please to announce that Supra have added some three more lengths, to their already wide range of HF100 Digital Video cable terminated with HDMI and/or DVI connectors.

As well as the current range of lengths of:
1m, 2m, 4m, 8m, 10m, 12m and 15m

We now have available the following lengths:
3m, 5m and 6m

With such a wide choice of lengths, now you can get the exact length you need, without having to buy a more expensive longer than you need length.

19th May 2006
We're pleased to announce the 30th Anniversary celebrations for Supra have now started.

Started in 1976, Supra have since then been manufacturing their own cables in their own factory in Sweden. Of course the range has expanded significantly since the Classic 2.5 was first launched !

And now, Supra are involved in producing one of the worlds finest digital video cables, the HF100 - ideal for use with the new HD broadcast standards being adopted across the world.

Typical of Supra - in there "at the beginning" (of specialist audio cables) and continuing to research, develop and manufacture cables of the highest quality 30 years later.

4th May 2006
Sky have now announced that they will begin transmissions of the long-awaited HD signals as of 22nd May 2006 - just in time for the World Cup. The BBC have yet to confirm when they will be transmitting their HD signal (which will be "free to view" via a suitable HD set-top box from either satellite or cable). However the BBC have promised to cover both the World Cup and Wimbledon in HD format, so there's plenty of things to look forward to over summer.

From our point of view, we now have high stock levels of the award-winning HF100 Digital Video cables in stock in a wide range of lengths - as we don't know yet what length (or quality) of HDMI cable Sky will be supplying "in the box" when it is installed.

(If you have a Sky HD box, please let us know what you get - we're still waiting to hear from Sky when they will be installing ours...!)

3rd March 2006
We're pleased to announce our attendance at:

The Heathrow High Fidelity Show

28th February 2006
Another great write up for Supra Sword - Read the April issue of Hi-Fi World for a great article by David Price.

31st January 2006
LATEST UPDATE: We can now lift the lid on our first award for 2006.

Hi-Fi+ magazine has awarded Supra with a "Discovery of the Year" award for the Supra Sword speaker cable.

The cable is featured in Issue 43 on sale at end of January.

You can find local suppliers of Sword here, if you want to arrange demonstration and hear what a good speaker cable can do for your system.

(If your local dealer isn't featured, give us a call and we can perhaps "persuade" them...!)
